ACE OF SWORDS POWERWORDS
Mind, Thoughts, Communication
QUICK MEANING
The Ace of Swords comes into your life when you are using your mind to a high degree.
CARD DESCRIPTION
We see a hand coming out of the clouds. The hand is strongly holding a sword. On the tip of the sword is a crown. From the crown hangs plants. Falling from the crown are ‘leaves’.
SYMBOLS
Hand
The hand of the Creator giving you a gift. Hold that gift gently and allow yourself to feel it.
Clouds
Represents the divinity behind the gift.
Sword
The sword represents focus and clarity – must like the voice and its ability to communicate truth and uphold justice. It shows us the intelligence of the mind and the ability to articulate what we feel and think.
Crown
The crown is a symbol of divinity and power. Our minds can elevate us to the highest degree and it can also pull us into the deepest depths. The mind more than anything can help us connect to the Creator.
Plants on Crown
On one side we have an olive branch, on the other side a palm. Both are traditional symbols for peace with the added fact that the palm also represents spiritual triumph. Wars are created by words – and peace can be made with words.
Falling Leaves
There are six falling ‘leaves’. These are the letter Yod, which is the 10th letter in the Hebrew alphabet. Yod is the first letter in the Creators name and represent the building blocks of the universe. Yod therefore represents divine energy.
Mountains
The mountains may represent our mind and its daily ups and downs.

GOLDEN DAWN / QABALA
The Hermetic title for this card is ‘The Root of the Powers of Air’.
There are four Kabbalistic worlds which are the way energy becomes more physical. Air resides within the world of Yetzirah which is seen as the Formative world.
On the Tree of Life, the Aces sit at the top on the Sephirah called Kether which is Hebrew for Crown. This is the first place where the creative force of the Creator comes into focus on its steps to manifestation. The color traditionally associated with 1’s on the Tree of Life is White and Brilliance.
ASTROLOGICAL
The Aces can rule a season. I prefer seeing Swords as the Spring. There are many ways to attribute an Ace to a season. You can decide what makes more sense to you or if its important for you.
THE POWER OF THE MIND
So many people have issues around their thoughts can can become dragged down by them. If you want to make your mind stronger then I suggest you explore affirmations, positive thinking and meditation. The book ‘The Power of Now’ by Eckhart Tolle is incredibly powerful in teaching you to stay in the moment and not becoming controlled by your thoughts.
THE ACE OF SWORDS REVERSED
When we cannot access the stability of our mind, we can become overwhelmed and even can feel crazy. Depression, anxiety, phobias and stress are very common in the world. It happens when our mind is no longer balanced. A hurricane is controlled by the element of air and it has the ability to destroy everything in its path. So too can our negative thinking.
Two important questions to consider with a reversed Ace of Swords:
What thoughts in my mind are currently destroying my life?
What steps can I make to create a more balanced mind?
A SPECIAL NOTE FOR WOMEN!!!
It is time to speak out!
Women have been silenced for too long. All around the world women are standing up to abuse, saying no to terror and voicing their opinions.
Are you staying quiet?
Why?
How can you empower your life and speak your truth? How can you stand in your power?
The world needs your voice.
